[REL] NYR's Stadium Seating 2 (1/12/09 - V3 RELEASED!)
1/12/09: Version 3 RELEASED!
![]() DOWNLOAD AT MY SITE Just unzip to your Style/Themed folder, and enjoy! ![]() ===================================================================== After giving some thought as to what CS set I should make next, I decided to revisit the Stadium Seating set, and create a second set that includes curved seating arrangements. Most arenas in real life have this, so I decided to tackle this. Right now, I'm having some texture issues, but here you get a rough idea of what I'm going after here. I will have curved pieces that are up to 6x6 tiles wide (which is what you see here). ![]() ![]()

Looks incredible! It'll be a great addition to the first set.
I did like the 3D seats from the first version of the first set better, they looked more realistic, but for the sake of polygons, I'd say keep them 2D.

This is definetly a big improvement! I didn't use your first set because a stadium like shyguy once made in his Circus Centre was more realistic. Now with the curved seatings (if you'd ever release them) I'll use these because these are much more realistic.

This looks great, but you know what would rock, there are custom flat rides today, it would be awesome if you used that and the people would actually sit in these seats.
Of course it's not like I'll be extremely angry if you don't, so no pressure. ![]() |

^I just checked it out, glad to see you're making good use of the first set.
Another little update here. The 5R and 6R curves are imported, as well as some other pieces, but I discovered that I need to make some offset parts as well. You can see one of them in the empty space where stairs should be. ![]()

Perfect! I've been spending ages trying to work out something like this without this kind of set, it never looks right. Can't wait to try these out.

Thanks everyone for your great support and kind words!
![]() Another update to show you. I updated the texture of the seats to make them darker, because they were too light before. I was able to import all of the pieces in-game, however I need to fix the diagonal pieces, because they do not align correctly with the curved pieces. ![]() Now here's a pic showing all of the curved pieces in action! ![]() And lastly, this is what I have been working on since yesterday, trying to perfect it... ![]() ![]() If anyone can help me with the bench issues I'm having it would be much appreciated. Basically, I did everything in Surfingoz's tutorial the right way, but as you can see in the pic above, the seats aren't aligned the way the benches are supposed to be. Did I not align it the right way in SketchUp? The object rotates 90* like the benches are supposed to, but I can't place it on the edge of the path... Also, the peeps only seem to wanna sit in the first row of seats, even though I have peep effect points on all of them. ![]()

OMG this is so useful!
But is it okay if you add textures to the floor? It would make it a bit more realistic. ![]()

Thanks everyone for the great responses!
Unfortunately, real life was keeping me busy the last few days, so I didn't get to work on it much. I'm STILL trying to figure out the beepin' positioning for the bench piece. I'm using the Sketchup plugin, and doing everything Surfingoz's tutorial says to do, yet it still does not align properly. Oh, and Old-Spice, I moved the effect points up, so they seem to sit properly now. It's just that the object isn't aligned like benches, trash cans, lights are supposed to be!I'm also going to add some more pieces to the set, now that I learned how to make objects extendable (thanks Moby!). As for the texture for the floor, I DO have a texture there, but for some reason, the concrete just won't show up the right size. It shows up as a microscopic-so-small-can't-see size that's tiled to infinity, so it doesn't work. I never understood why it does that sometimes, and other times it doesn't... ![]() If anyone can help me out with these issues, please let me know so I can get this set finished and working properly!

I already love the first set, this is going to be awesome for creating shows in the park, or create stadiums!

Another good set from NYR. A little trick I learned if you use sketchup is to draw a square outside of your model according to texture size. A 128x128 texture with hd pixels draw a 1meter x 1meter box and place texture in it, and see if that is what you desire. Then when you are ready click the paint bucket and it should drop the texture on model by the size pre-determined.
