Wonderland Water Park - !!Update!! 11/19/08 - Video link added

Well, this is my 1st thread to start; let's see how it goes. If nobody else enjoys this thread, at least I can take pics and keep track of my parks progress. This will be about my new park, Wonderland Water Park. It is an indoor water park set in a snowy, mountain area. It will have several themed pools in totally separate sections. I started it about a week ago and have a few sections finished. Here's a few pics of what I have so far.

Here's a few pics of the hot tub room located in the back of the park. It is located at the edge of a mountain lake.

It contains several hot tubs and has a glass roof for a more outdoors feel.

Each hot tub has a great view of the mountains and of the waterfall that feeds into the lake.

It looks pretty cool at night.

Across from the hot tub room is the Alpine Pool. It is a small relaxing pool area with several Alpine themed buildings and a glass roof. I made the ceiling blue to sort of mimic the sky. I also made a (in my opinion) pretty cool sign for the area.

This is a shot of the cafe building that takes up one corner of the area.

A shot of the crafts shop and wine store.

And here is the clock shop.

A couple of night shots. I think everything lights up nicely.

This is the glass-walled room that takes you from the ground floor to the 2nd level.

Here's a view from the top of the staircase looking towards the mountains.

This is a quick night shot of one of the pathways that lead from one of the as-of-now unbuilt sections back to the hot tub and Alpine Pool areas. The pipe outside is a water pipe that feeds into the building.

I will update this thread periodically as I complete different sections or at least make some cool additions. Please let me know your thoughts. Criticism is not only accepted, I would request it. I greatly admire the work of the people on this forum and think your criticism will help make this park that much better.

Thanks!

It looks so realistic, especially the terraforming in the 2nd to last pic! The only thing I could suggest is that you could put Belgabor's invisible changing rooms infront of the buildings. Then it will get rid of the pool fence!

I think I saw a picture of this in the best pics thread.

I really like the idea of the alpine buildings inside the structure and your lighting looks very good. Are you planning any slides for this park?

I did post 1 pic of the Alpine Pool in the best pic thread but I wanted to show so many other pics, I figured I better start a park thread. Yes, there will be several slides & rides. I am currently working on a large Atlantis themed pool with several water slides.

What an awesome idea! A waterpark in the snow. You'v done extremely well the indoor pool and alpine buildings. It looks great. It's a shame you can't get rid of the unsightly pool fences. Hopefully someone will come up with a way to remove them soon.

The indoor pool looks very cool. I love the idea of putting the Alpine buildings in the facade. But there's one thing that I don't like: The RCT3 Vanilla Glass Walls. They just don't fit right with the rest of the pool. Maybe you can use Xistic's Office Glass set for a replacement. Otherwise, this park is really turning out great. I will keep an eye out for this.

Nesiroo suggested I try using glass walls other than the RCT3 Vanilla glass walls I was using. Here are a couple of different options. What do you guys think looks best?

1. RCT3 Vanilla glass walls

2. Xistic glass walls

3. Vodhin glass walls

Yeah. The first one is whiter. Which matches the rest of the park.

Wow. I see some great potential in you. The brics wil Vodhin's glasses look a little bit "Messy", if you know what I mean... I don't think they look good together. For the stairs, why don't you try Coaster.Sim.Fan's glasses? They are transparent, you can see through them and have no edges. They are the best glass walls, floor and roof for RCT3 in my opinion.

I think you'd use the ones from xistic. They are the best looking in my opinion. Cause vodhins make me feel like you are in a greenhouse. And the Vanilla glass walls have a nice light glass. But the frame...
Also I think that it does need a dark teint, cause else you see to much of that stone wall.

It's pretty rare to see an indoor theme park/water park; I guess it's pretty hard building that?

But I think it looks quite realistic. I like that you haven't done so much about the outer walls - indoor water parks often look rather bare from the outside. The inside on the other hand, looks much better then most of the real world indoor pool areas, and I find it funny that you've chosen an alpine theming..

RCT's walls have weird shading problems and Vodhin's don't fit the style in my opinion. I vote Xistic's - they look modern and clean.

Xistic's Look best imo, i don't like the frames on RCTs and Vodhin's don't fit for big areas of glass imo... I say Xistic's - it has the best frame and best tint!

Nice park, nice concept, more please!

I vote the same. Xistics Just look clean. And I think the tint is good because the people hiking outside will have a hard time seeing the naked peeps inside which will help save the peeps from perverts.

I like the pool. You already perfected the indoor building structures and you have only been on the forums for like... 30 posts!

This looks really good , I like the Xistics glass best but its your park .
I think you could use some carefully placed fog particles to give a warm water ,chilly air feel to certain areas'.
Keep up the good work , I know you don't like to let peeps in till you get further along but this will look great when peeps are using this pool.

After listening to everyone's opinion and reviewing the pictures, I have to agree that the best choice would be to use Xistics glass walls. But I did make a minor change and put horizontial brick supports and some vertical concrete supports. Looks better? Worse? Let me know what you think.

The next part of the park I am working on is an Atlantis themed pool. In the back will be an underwater 'Atlantis Experience' where you can take a tour of Atlantis and view the artifacts. Here's a few sneak peak pictures.

I think this night shot turned out great.

I think you shouldn't place those beams verticly in your glass wall. And I also think that you shouldn't place horrizontal bricks either.

The underwater adventure really looks cool. I like it a lot. Also the museum feeling at the beginning is very original.

The underwater walk looks great but Ii think you could do with spicing up the walls a bit. Perhaps making the whole thing look like a flooded temple? Put a roof on, lots of columns, you know what I mean.
