[REL] Animated Escalators (Beta sort of thing)

Hi everybody, this afternoon I was trying out a sneaky technique for animation so I made a tried it on a couple of escalators I made ages ago to see how it looked in the game. The results were quite good so I might aswell share it with you all!

The set isn't very polished as it was really a test but I plan to expand the set and fix any problems that you might find. Anyway, here's a picture!

There are 4 pieces in total: The middle bits going in both directions, the two ends (depending on the middle bit's direction, the ends will appear to be going in that direction too, yeah, how clever!)

And finally the link! Let me know what you think so that I can fix issues for a proper release later on!

Hello again! Just to answer questions:
No, peeps cannot walk on them. That wouldn't be possible, unless it was set up as a transport ride (which isn't possible anyway.. yet!) but that's just silly anyway, imagine seeing a queue for the escalator in your park

Also: Stu, I didn't realise you'd already made them! Your's look better anyway!

If they was wide enough for paths, you could have a no entry on 1 end and make it look like peeps are walking on them, just an idea

Jonnyears i think you are looking at the whole "working" thing the wrong way. What i suggest is to make it so that they are the same width as a normal path, so that when combined with an invisible path peeps can "use" them.

oh, so you mean place them over stairs, or an angled path so the peepes can "walk" on them. that would be great! you'd just have to be able to place them(escalators) over(on) paths. so how are these coming along anyway?

Out of curiosity, what makes these much different than Mikey's?

Great job and thanks for the release!

i tried the escalators and i have a few criticisms:
-the animation is too fast
-the escalators need to be at least twice as wide (around as wide as a path, remebering that peeps don't use the very edges so that is can be taken up by railings and such so that they don't look too wide.
-you should include more varied peices regarding slopes so that they can match up with all sloped paths and land heights
just my 2 cents

hmm, post above me ^:

-too fast, okay, didn't see them but I could understand

-pleas don't even bother making them bigger, we all know peeps could walk trough them but still, then it looks way to ugly..

-it's a beta.. that means sort of "test"..

I think i can read the word beta fine, thanks.
Those were just a few suggestions
As far as width goes right now they are barely wide enough for one peep (including handrails) I really think they need to be wider

I think they should be wider to, after all when you're using them, it looks out of shape with the rest of the objects, walls and stuff around it.

Uhh....
Why are youmaking something that has been made? MikeyCA's Vanilla Walls set ring a bell? I thought you were claiming them as your own in the first pic. Looks EXACTLY like them, exept, with mikeys, peeps can walk on them.

Sorry Rctoker but they look NOTHING like mikey's escalators. They look more like conveyor belts. These look like actual escalators. Have you by any chance tried them in-game?

^I have. Mickey's are more like moving walkways. These look more like escalators the only problem I had with them was that they were too narrow and the animation was a little to fast on them.
