The scans had been translated for a few days actually...and didn't really reveal something we didn't know anyways.

As for the release date, where did you get it from?

The scan. :P

I have a friend who is Japanese that lived there for 20+ years, and speaks fluent English. He knows nothing about Dragon Ball (as much as a non-fan in JAPAN can anyway), and his translations go smoothly along with what others have said and DBZ itself. Either way, even if there wasn't any new info, this is a "one-stop shop" as it were for the game's info. I did it altruistically for sure, but it's darned handy for me. :P

Where in the scan does it say that, specifically? I know japanese too and i don't see any kind of date listed.

If you were referring to the "23" listed on the bottom of the orange scan above the "6" , that refers to the katekyo hitman reborn! game obviously...so your friend may not know japanese after all >_>.

Uh, he is Japanese. I've heard him speak it fluently. He said "one version of the game" would be released then. I think he thinks that that scan has info for DBZ games only, so maybe he thought "Katekyo Hitman Reborn!" was the subtitle for a DBZ game.

My bad, I'll fix it.

No way is this game coming out july 23, they would of hyped it well before then.

Just take that out, the rest is good though and this thread will be quite useful in the future that's for sure.

The fact that it said it would be released for the DS, while above it said the game was for ps3 and 360 didn't make him wonder? It listing another game's release date below it for august 6 for a bleach game would also show that...and the part is titled hiroku G+ calendar...meaning it's listing other summer releases.

What other things has he translated for you? Just double checking here lol.

Yeah, he did mention "some DS game" that he wasn't sure if it was DBZ or something similar to RB. And he didn't know what system the game was supposed to be released on except for what the screens said.

EDIT: Also, is it my imagination (probably), or is that, in the third scan, on the bottom screenshot, Bojack Goku has just sent flying? I know it probably isn't, since we've only seen a few characters (major ones) and Bojack would be quite random, but you never know. Just... there's a big maroon blob (hair) above a mess of green, it looks like to me. And it looks like below that, a bit of white (pants), a small blob of blue (the tail of his belt) and what looks like maybe yellow boots. Hmm...

EDIT 2: After doing some investigation on the bottom screenshot of the third scan, I've deduced that the character Goku has sent flying is Final Form Frieza. Not entirely exciting or surprising, but for those of you wondering I'm almost positive that's who we're looking at there.

Hey nice, useful thread, I approve *nod*

I hadn't actually heard about the translations of the scans. It's interesting, the wording they use. What are these Mega blast moves mentioned?

My translator friend got this from the scan:

"The characters also have the ability to do some mega blast destruction moves."

Sounds to me like maybe something along the lines of the way Spirit Bomb and Supernova "destroy" the planet, but maybe since the games already had this feature, maybe you can completely destroy large plateaus or created craters in the ground? We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

In the context put i think this refers to the stage-altering ultimate attacks present in previous games.

Sounds more like their way to get attention. It's probably the same blast moves as usual, haven't they always described them like that ?

I don't remember how the scans of BT3 described it due to them being nearly 3 years old lol.

But yeah, most everything they've said is stuff we'd know...anyone who's played a previous spike game should at least.

"A cool-sounding arbitrary name/description of a mode of which no details exist yet." would be it. Similarly to how "max power mode" was referred to as SPARKING! in the sparking games in the japanese version.

Indeed. "Realistic and super-speedy visual battles" apparently was at least close to the "Raging System" tag. I'm wondering if this just refers to the game engine or something.

I think the idea is to emphasize their intent to have it replicate the anime series as much as possible, or maybe it is a hint as to a more in-depth melee system? It's all in speculation at this point.

But "SPARKING" mode isn't new. It's been there since the first.

Yes, and raging blast is not a direct sparking sequel.

Mmmm, destructable enviroments sounds great. I'm hoping all the previous gameplay features make a return, and they just modify and add to it. They're usually pretty good with fan feed back, like making rushes easier to block from T2 to T3 etc. Anyone know what engine they're using? Looks to me like it was built from the gound up. It's possible it's a modified version of the Tenkiachi engine too

I agree.

It appears to me to be a modified Tenkaichi engine (unless they're reusing animations from the Tenkaichi series)... which is fine by me. BT3 was damn-near close to a perfect DBZ game, so, a new engine would just be kind of a shame.

By the way, all available screenshots of the game are now on the first post of this topic.
