:
  • DOM map.
  • Cool concept.
:
  • FPS is horrible (as in less than half of what I usually get).
  • Lots of textures are almost black. I know there's not a lot of direct light to go on, but there should still be enough indirect light to at least see what I am walking on.
  • Long, uneventful trek to the DOM points.
  • Since most weapons are available right at the start, there's no real reason to take alternative routes.
  • Day/night theme is not very obvious. The colour of the light is different, but that's it.
  • Architecture is very oversized, square and UT99-ish.
  • Doorways look like they've been cut out of the walls, instead of the walls looking like they were built around the doorways.

What video card are you using ? And what Processor ? It screams on my system with full 32 player bot load out @ 1280x1024 32kbs Color and everything set to high for textures etc.

?????

Thanks for the other feedback too, I'm working on dressing it down now with the doorways etc.... This is my third map ever so I am still learning the ropes. (my first map was Doom95, second was QIII)

Lighting and texturing are questionable. It plays well enough for me, but I can see why it'd lag for some. It is, after all, mostly (all?) BSP. I agree with everything else said. It would make an OK UT99 map.

Strange, actually most of the Map is static meshes. But it is a learning experience for me so I do appriciate the feedback. Have you tried the CTF version ?

Thats cool. Thats a great card too. I found some cool info on a few sites to help me trim down. I have abandoned this version for a newer one. Same comcept much more robust and less.....uh...cardboard box like. I finally nailed down the landscape tools and someone introduced me to Maya which has grown on me, very easy transition from the CAD software that I sometimes use.

I use a NVidia AGP 8x GeForce FX5600 256Meg on a PiV 2.8/800MHz fsb 1 GIG PC2700 (eh not the best ram...but all I could afford after everything else.)

I agree with everything said, We need more Double Domination maps. If this was a learning map, I am impressed, can't wait to see the new version!

weak systems = low FPS and gamma correction

xyx may i suggest a system upgrade?

-an xp 1800 is 1.53 Ghz w/ a 266FSB and 256L2 cache 128L1
if your board supports faster bus speeds you can athlon xp2800 w/ 333FSB for $83 dollars.

-weapons at the start make the game fun. killing is the objective

-maybe you need a new monitor. it looks good with the gamma on default on mine.

-i get ~120-145FPS, 1280x1024 32bit color all the goodness turned up, and with plenty of godlike bots whose AI probably takes a good chunk of CPU.

p.s. no new version, new map!! with crazy meshes and chicks and beers and 266 front side busses and all the good stuff to slow everyone's FPS muhahahahhahaaaa
